Antalya packing list: start with the trip you booked
Swimwear, sandals, sun cream, sunglasses and lightweight clothes do most of the work.
Proper walking shoes matter if you're leaving the pool for Kaleiçi, ruins or waterfalls.
Small bag, water, power bank and a light layer make excursions much easier.
If you're staying mostly at a resort, keep the list brutally simple
A week at an all-inclusive hotel can look like it needs seven complete outfits, but in reality swimwear, light daytime clothes and a small number of evening combinations cover most of the trip.
- Two or three swimsuits if you swim daily.
- Light cover-up or shirt for moving around the hotel.
- Sandals or pool shoes.
- Sun cream, sunglasses and hat.
- Three or four mix-and-match evening outfits rather than seven unrelated ones.
- One light layer for breezy evenings or strong air conditioning.
Our beach holiday packing list covers the resort side in more detail.
Kaleiçi changes your footwear calculation
Antalya's historic old town adds cobbled streets, slopes and longer walking than a resort day. GoTürkiye also highlights the city's wider heritage and ancient sites, so travellers who plan to explore need more than flip-flops.
You do not need hiking boots for normal sightseeing, but you do need footwear that stays comfortable on uneven streets and long excursions.
Antalya's sun should shape the list more than the hotel dress code
In warm months, sun protection is not an accessory. Pack it alongside your phone charger and passport rather than leaving it in the “maybe” pile.
Check the actual forecast close to departure. “Antalya is hot” is not enough information if you're travelling outside peak summer.
Turkey entry requirements for British travellers
Current FCDO guidance says British citizen passport holders can visit Turkey without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period for tourism or business. Your passport must have an expiry date at least 150 days after the date you arrive and at least one blank page.
The Turkey rule is not simply “passport valid on travel day”. Use the live FCDO entry page to confirm your dates and passport type.
Day trips are where Antalya packing gets more interesting
GoTürkiye describes Antalya as a mix of sea, sun, history and nature, with ancient sites and a long Mediterranean coastline. If you're doing excursions, add items because of those plans rather than because a generic list says so.
Antalya plugs and charging
Turkey commonly uses Type C and F sockets. Standard UK Type G plugs need a travel adaptor. A compact multi-port charger can reduce the number of separate plugs if you're sharing a room, but check the charger's voltage rating before use.
